17 Sep 2022 Walking to raise awareness and funds for mental health
On the occasion of its 141st anniversary, the English Province of the Sisters Hospitallers —on which our center in Monrovia depends— organized in August the “Walk the Talk” campaign, an initiative that involved members of the Hospitaller Community walking, running or cycling 141 kilometers and thus, through contributions of GBP 5 per person, raising funds for the Intellectual Disability Day Center for Children that Sisters Hospitallers have in Dompoase (Ghana).
The Hospitaller Community made up of sisters, patients, former patients, relatives, staff and collaborators of the Saint Benedict Menni Health Center of Monrovia wanted to join the initiative and support our sister center, and we took to the streets of the capital of Liberia to contribute our kilometers and raise awareness to the problems of mental health and intellectual disability and its patients, who suffer so much stigma.
