06 Jun 2016 Aita Menni transfers USD 42,600 for the Saint Benedict Menni Health Center at Pipeline

Aita Menni Hospital in Arrasate-Mondragon (Spain) recently transferred USD 42,600 to the Community of the Sisters Hospitallers in Pipeline (Monrovia, Liberia), for the refurbishing of facilities at the Saint Benedict Menni Health Center.

This amount was collected in 2015 and 2016 thanks to the efforts of volunteers, individual donnors, companies that work with Aita Menni and suppliers who wanted to contribute to We Are Like You, a project that seeks improving the conditions of patients at the health center, and treat patients with mental illness and/or suffering from substance abuse and mental handicaps. In the amount transferred to Liberia are comprised donations collected at Juan Carlos Irizar´s charity concerts in different Basque towns and in other events organized by Sisters Hospitallers and Aita Menni Hospital, such as the gathering held in Chillida-Leku Museum (San Sebastian) last September. The money collected will be intended to refurbish the facilities at Saint Benedict Health Center, and more precisely the house that will shelter the health workers who will go to Monrovia to participate in the project and to train local workers on caring patients with mental diseases.
